Thanks to everyone who came along to the Glasgow International Artists Bookfair at the weekend. I hope you're enjoying your new zines! If you didn't make it along, don't forget we'll be at the Glasgow Comic Mart next month.

Pushpin Zines will have a stall at the Glasgow International Artists Bookfair this weekend (28th & 29th April). You'll find us in the Royal Concert Hall at Table 15 near the Buchanan Street entrance. Do come along if you can - I've got some special offers and a box full of bargain secondhand zines. Plus a brand new Oddments zine - in honour of the event, it's The Book Issue.

Stock Inventory

I'll be bringing most of our stock of zines, books and bookmarks to the bookfair. While I will do my best to keep online inventory up to date, it's possible that items you order may in fact be sold out. If this happens I will contact you to offer an alternative or refund, or a back order if possible. PDF zines are obviously unaffected. Thank you for your understanding!

Pushpin will be selling at two events in Glasgow this Spring if you fancy browsing our zines in person. Here's the dates for your diary:

Summer is on its way and we've got some great how-to guides for you, whether you want to learn how to screenprint, develop photos or grow your own food. There's also a beautiful new illustrated A-Z zine by Deth P. Sun that will keep you occupied for hours - so many drawings crammed into every page.

PS. Fancy free shipping? Head over to Facebook for a special offer.

I'm taking a short holiday to recharge my batteries so there will be shipping delays. Any orders received by 9am GMT tomorrow (22nd) will be shipped that day. All other orders will not be shipped until Monday 5th March

To make up for the wait, all orders containing at least one printed zine will get a free bookmark and orders over £6 will get two free bookmarks. Just leave a note at checkout if you have a preference, otherwise I'll pick for you.

PDF orders will be fulfilled automatically as normal.

I've been adding some cool new stuff to the shop this last week so make sure you take a look. Homesweet Homegrown, the new book from Microcosm, is particularly nice inside and out.

It's time for a addition to our series of exclusive bookmarks illustrated by my favourite artists. Redressing the gender balance a little is Chris Summerlin, an illustrator, poster designer, zinemaker and musician playing in awesome bands like Lords, Kogumaza and Felix. His bookmark features a burning forest and would be the perfect companion for our travel zines and guide books.

Limited edition of 100 so get them while you can! Don't forget, if you spend over £6 at Pushpin, you'll get a bookmark free with your order. Buy one now »

If you're looking for something new to read then it's a good time to check out Answers on a Postcard as all issues are now half price at just £1 each!

A year long project by Katy of Girl Industries, each issue contains interviews with a range of creative folks with a different topic each issue. Read their tips on starting a business, keeping home and work separate, their crafty rituals, work spaces, creative failures, favourite books and much more.

I Like Zines is the Pushpin Tumblr, where you'll find news and reviews from the world of zines. I've started posting up reviews of all the zines I've bought or received recently so check it out - lots more to come too!

I've just updated the shop with lots of new and restocked zines and books. There's a DIY guide to screenprinting in comic form, independent travel guides to NYC and Portland, OR, 2 issues of The DIY Times which interviews lots of independent artists and businesses, a couple of travel diaries and another free PDF zine of illustrations.

Check them all out here, and remember you can buy any 3 zines, ezines and books for the price of 2 until midnight Friday. More details on that in the previous post.

Our buy 3 zines for the price of 2 offer has been extended until Friday!

This weekend we will have a special offer running at Pushpin - buy any two zines and get a third one free! You can choose from our stock of zines, books and PDFs and we'll give you the cheapest one for free. Even better, if you buy 6 zines, you'll get 2 free and so on.

To get your free zine, just add your three zine choices to your cart and place your order. We'll then refund the cost of the cheapest zine within 48 hours. You can also just buy 2 zines of your choice and we'll send you a surprise zine as your freebie.

Offer starts at midnight GMT on Friday 6th January and ends at midnight GMT on Sunday 8th January Friday 13th January. Offer does not apply to bookmarks or zine packs. Shipping costs still apply.

Just to let you know Monday 19th December is my last official shipping day of 2011. I will resume shipping in early January. However, it's likely that most orders will still ship in 3-5 days depending on the weather etc. If you need your zines in a hurry, please email me before ordering and I'll do my best to help. PDF zines will be delivered automatically as normal throughout the festive season.

There's still time to pick up some holiday reading - orders received by Monday should arrive at UK addresses for Christmas. If you're stuck for ideas, our newest arrival is the cute and poignant How To Be A Ghost, which comes with a free original drawing! Or how about Jen Collins' ace new Activity Zine - that'll keep everyone occupied on Boxing Day.

Thanks also to everyone who came by our stall at Made in the Shade. It was great to see so many people browsing and buying. I hope you love your new zines.

If you fancy browsing our zines in person, Pushpin will have a stall at the Made in the Shade Holiday Hullabaloo at the Lighthouse in Glasgow this Saturday, 10th December. I'll be bringing a selection of our awesome zines and bookmarks so you can stock up on holiday reading. Pushpin will be sharing space with my other business, Asking For Trouble so keep your eyes peeled and do say hello.

There's loads happening on the day, plus the excellent GmbH magazine shop on the ground floor so take a look at the Made in the Shade blog for all the updates and details.

I've just added some great new zines to the shop. I've got issues #2 & #3 of The Wanderer, a great zine about walking and exploring in the everyday sense - the writing, photography and layouts are all top notch.

I also have two illustrated zines by one of my favourite artists, Deth P Sun - he explores themes of adventuring and quests in his paintings and his zines have elements of this but are mostly just lots of interesting little drawings. The nosy folks among us will be fascinated by his zine of everything he ate for 5 months.

Take a look at all the new stuff, and don't forget there's a free bookmark with all orders over £6.

pushpin is sponsoring a giveaway over at TokyoBunnie - head on over for a chance to win 3 cute zines and a Pusheen bookmark!

With our similar names and shared love of cake, it was inevitable that we would collaborate with Pusheen the cat. The second in our series of artist bookmarks features Pusheen doing some serious book reading and it's totally adorable. If you like Pusheen she has her own Tumblr, and can also be found at Everyday Cute, run by her owner Claire Belton. The bookmarks are limited to 250 and are exclusive to pushpin so get yours while you can, and don't forget that orders over £6 get a free bookmark. Just leave a note to tell us if you want the Pusheen or Jen Collins design. Happy reading!

pushpin will be taking the train over to Edinburgh on Sunday 28th August to sell at I've Zine You, a new independent publishing book fair. I'll have a full table of zines and bookmarks so stop by for a browse if you can. There's more information on the event and other sellers on their blog.

I'm delighted to show you the newest additions to the pushpin bookmarks section - these beautiful bookmarks are handmade by Pumpkinsputnik here in Glasgow featuring Emma's photographic designs of flowers and plants. They're printed on lovely thick watercolour paper with rounded corners and paper string trails.

We've got three designs on sale - Violetta, Flutterby and Wedgewood - and they're all available exclusively from pushpin. We also have a very limited edition of Pumpkinsputnik book hearts, a collaboration with Asking For Trouble. I hope you love them all as much as we do.

Zinester Catherine Elms has kindly sent over a stack of her minizines Twt - they're hand-drawn and share some of her favourite things and least favourite things. Each minizine is FREE - add them to your order and you'll just pay the shipping!

If you're ordering digital PDF zines, you can get a free zine too - my own Pumpkin on your Head PDF zine is free to download. Just add it to your order for the download link.

The new expanded and updated edition of my Tokyo Shopping Guide is now available for pre-order with a special offer. Buy the printed zine for an introductory price of £2 and you’ll get a free copy of the PDF zine sent to your email, with the print zine following on as soon as they arrive here.

It's packed full of info about cute and crafty things to do in Tokyo, from shopping to museums and gardens, plus mini guides to Osaka and Kyoto. If you ever plan to visit Japan, you'll love this guide!

Thanks to everyone who's given pushpin a mention so far, including magCultureThe Magaziner, FrizziFrizziGirl Industries and Warren Ellis. I really appreciate you sending people my way! If you've posted about pushpin on your blog, leave a link in the comments.

I've also added a list of zine-related blogs in the sidebar if you want some good reading. I'll follow that up with some awesome distros, resources and more very soon.
